• The Smith Big Sister/Little Sister Program: The Big Sister/Little Sister program is a new program that aims to connect current students with alumnae on an individual basis. A Smith alum will be paired with a current student. The Student Alumnae Association (SAASC), an undergraduate club dedicated to increasing the connection between students and alumnae, is managing the program. You can fill out an application on line!

• Pecans: The Belmont Smith Club is selling fresh and candied pecans to benefit the Smith Scholarship Fund. One-pound bags of fresh pecans from this season's crop, perfect for baking, $9.50 per pound, Gift-wrapped bags of chocolate-covered pecans, $9.50 per bag, Gift-wrapped bags of cinnamon-glazed pecans, $9.50 per bag, Six packs of plain pecans are $52.50, Cases of candies (24 bags per case) are $185; and cases of plain are $200. All profits from pecan sales go to the Smith College Scholarship Fund and are used to help send local students to Smith. $3.00 from each bag purchased is tax-deductible.
